Mexican Talavera
Traditional Mexican Pottery. Talavera is a type of maiolica earthenware, distinguished by its white base glaze. Talavera pottery comes from the cities of Puebla, Atlixco, Cholula and Tecali, as the clays needed and the history of this craft are both centered there. All pieces are hand-thrown on a potters's wheel, hand painted with traditional glazes and kiln fired as they have been since colonial times
